The New York Television Festival

In September 2007, the New York Television Festival hosted thousands of independent TV creators, industry figures, and TV fans at the third annual NYTVF. The Festival's Independent Pilot Competition (IPC) featured 28 of the best independently produced television pilots from across the U.S. and abroad. In addition, the Fest presented a wide variety of panel discussions, star-studded network premieres, and other special events designed to celebrate and honor television. The NYTVF is proud of all artists whose work was featured in the 2007 IPC and who helped elevate the bar for independent television.

NYTVF 2007 - FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

In 2007, the New York Television Festival launched a unique Fellowship Program matching promising up-and-coming TV artists with some of the best-known names in television. As part of the program, prominent TV writers and producers hand-select the most talented pilot-makers featured in the NYTVF's Independent Pilot Competition and act as mentors on the artists' next TV project. NYTVF 2007 - PREMIERE WEEK SCREENING SERIES

Entering its second year in partnership with several major broadcast networks, the NYTVF Premiere Week screening series offers industry, press, and fans a sneak preview of the most anticipated network shows of the new TV season. The 2007 series featured the following events:

Thursday Sept. 6th - FOX's New Amsterdam
This event featured a red-carpet premiere screening and Q&A with the creators and stars. The talkback was moderated Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the NYC Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre, and Broadcasting.

Friday Sept. 7th - NBC's Chuck
A free screening of the new NBC action-comedy held for fans and press at the NYTVF.

Saturday Sept. 8th - ABC's Pushing Daisies
This event featured a red-carpet premiere screening and Q&A with the creators and stars - including Lee Pace, Jim Dale, Bryan Fuller, and Barry Sonnenfeld. The talkback was moderated by Gary Levin, TV columnist for USA Today.
