The New York Television Festival’s 2011 Independent Pilot Competition info, submission deadlines and development partners will be announced next week. In anticipation of those announcements, Festival staff will be onsite at several events in the coming weeks to discuss the initiatives, answer questions and meet with NYTVF community members.

NYTVF Director of Artist Relations Laura Heckman and Festival staffers will be at the monthly Channel 101 NY screening event at 92Y Tribeca. Channel 101, a long-time outreach partner of the Festival, is a monthly event showcasing some of the best independent content in the city and lets the audience decide which shows should stick around.

Co-Festival Directors Announced

Festival Founder and Executive Director Terence Gray announced today that long-time Festival staffers, Michael Getto and Erin Day have been promoted to Co-Festival Directors. In this capacity, Getto and Day will oversee the day-to-day management of all Festival planning as well as coordination of the NYTVF’s development initiatives, partnerships and staffing. Former Festival Director Ned Canty will continue to serve the NYTVF as an artistic consultant from his new post as Managing Director of Memphis Opera.
