Opening Night Keynote Conversation set for Monday at SVA Theatre

The NYTVF welcomes visionary storyteller and cult comedy hero Mitchell Hurwitz as the 2013 Creative Keynote. The creator and executive producer of Arrested Development will participate in this intimate discussion of television writing and producing, offering TV lovers and fans unique access and insight to the process of creating and guiding a 21st Century comedy phenomenon.

Back by popular demand, this late night writing panel, featuring the comic forces behind New York's late night institutions, focuses on the process of creating topical humor straight from the 24-hour news cycle, with an eye toward the current political landscape. Writers and producers from New York's late night staples The Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon share their experiences and provide their take on the current state of the genre.

What to do if your favorite events are on stand-by

The 2013 New York Television Festival kicks off in less than a week and a number of events have already sold out. BUT DON'T DESPAIR! Here's what to do if you'd still like to attend:

  • Buy a Festival Pass!
    If events are sold out, this the only way to guarantee access.
  • Try your luck at Stand-By
    Stand-by lines form 30 minutes prior to each event's start time. Seating is based on availability on a first-come basis. No guarantees, but you have a better shot at getting in if you're in line early.
