SEVEN DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS GUARANTEED TO OFFER DEALS TO NYTVF OFFICIAL SELECTIONS IN 2013

BET Networks, Channel 4, IFC, MTV, truTV, and VH1 join previously-announced CW Digital as Festival Development Partners; Sundance Channel returns as NYTVF Pitch Partner

terence gray“It’s symbolic of the greater industry’s investment in the independent creator community that we already have so many partners signed at the very beginning of the NYTVF development season, and we’re thrilled to have such a diverse and prestigious group looking to the NYTVF’s artistic community for great talent and ideas,” said NYTVF Founder Terence Gray. “Our mission is to provide opportunities for independent creators to gain access to the decision-makers inside the traditional television development system, and it is very heartening that we have so many eager partners that are backing up their belief in the value of independent projects by guaranteeing deal offers. The message is clear: No matter what genre you’re producing for – scripted, non-scripted, comedy, drama, animation or children’s programming – there is definitely a home for you and your work at the NYTVF.”

NYTVF Pitch, a program added to the Festival in 2011, will also be featured at the 2013 Festival, with Sundance Channel taking pitches on-site from Official Artists, based on a creative brief outlining its development goals and types of pitches in which it is interested. Sundance is participating in NYTVF Pitch for the third consecutive year and will also guarantee a development deal.
