NYTVF REMINDER: “NYTVF TV TUESDAYS” LAUNCHES NEXT WEEK
 
Our first in a series focused on development, production, creation, and celebration of all things TV is next Tuesday!

NYTVF TV Tuesdays will launch on February 12th with a presentation of the NYTVF's 2013 opportunities and a discussion on concept development and pre-production with NYTVF Alum, NorthSouth Productions exec, and current star of truTV's Impractical Jokers, James Murray.The event is slated to begin at 6:30 pm at Comedy Bar NYC (134 W.29th St). It is free to attend.

PANEL ANNOUNCED: SMALL SCREEN OPPORTUNITIES FOR NON-FICTION STORYTELLERS
 

IFP, DCTV, and the New York Television Festival (NYTVF) have teamed for a special free event highlighting small screen opportunities for doc and non-fiction filmmakers.

As the television and digital landscapes continue to expand and the demand for talented multi-medium storytellers reaches an all-time high, this discussion will aim to provide insight on the buyers, the players, the rules of the game, and, most importantly, how non-fiction filmmakers can successfully navigate the terrain. The panel will be moderated by Milton Tabbot, Senior Director of Programming at IFP.

Join NYTVF Founder and Executive Director Terence Gray for this exclusive comedy roundtable discussion with NYTVF partners Comedy Central, MTV, and truTV.

Get insight on the current state of the comedy landscape, emerging trends and what each network is currently buying and developing. If you're a comedy enthusiast, interested in submitting to the NYTVF, or creating your own comedy videos and formats, this event is not to be missed.

The NYTVF will be hosting an event with the Philadelphia Entertainment Network on February 20th!

philyNYTVF staff will be on-hand Wednesday, February 20th for an event with the Philadelphia Entertainment Network, highlighting our current development initiatives and the Independent Pilot Competition as well as answering all your questions about the NYTVF.

Interns have the opportunity to earn college credit (though not required) and will have a front-row seat to the planning and execution of the 2013 New York Television Festival.

Submission dates for History, Comedy Central and NBC fast approaching!

History Unscripted Development Pipeline
history History and the NYTVF are teaming up for an innovative program seeking original unscripted television treatments from independent artists and production companies. History is looking for charismatic male characters living in surprising worlds or with fresh points of view. 25 semi-finalists will be reviewed by the network with five (5) finalists receiving development funding to produce additional tape.

One winner will receive $10,000 and a development opportunity with History Programming!

2ND Annual NYTVF-Comedy Central Short Pilot Competition
comedy centralThe NYTVF and Comedy Central are offering aspiring TV writers and producers the opportunity to win $7,500 and a development deal with Comedy Central! They’re looking for fun, fresh points of view that fit into the Comedy Central brand of comedy. All scripted-comedy formats apply, including sitcoms, animated comedy, and scripted panel and game shows. Non-scripted formats are not applicable for this competition, regardless of hilarity.

Voice and Vision: The NBC Drama Challenge
