    --The NYTVF is proud to announce the 36 Official Selections to the 2008 Independent Pilot Competition.

    These pilots, spanning all genres of TV programming, represent some of the greatest shows the Festival has ever presented. Screenings will take place at the 2008 NYTVF starting Saturday, Sept. 13th and concluding Wednesday, Sept. 17th. We hope you will come out and support the latest wave of independent television creators.

    --The NYTVF is presenting its first-ever Industry Day panel series on Monday, September 17th.

    The top three finalists in the People's Choice/New York Television Festival spin-off contest have been selected. Allison Hagan from Washington D.C. and Stacey Newsome and Jason Yarusi from New York got creative with their ideas and are now in the running to become the official People's Choice ambassador at the 2008 New York Television Festival, giving them VIP access to screenings and red carpet events. Will it be Allison's version of The West Wing, Jason's version of Married with Children or Stacey's version of Friday Night Lights? You Decide!

    --The NYTVF has announced the top 25 finalists in the NYTVF-FOX Comedy Script Contest.

    One winner from this group is guaranteed $25,000 and a development deal with the Fox Broadcasting Company. The winner will be announced at the NYTVF Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, September 17th at the Festival. Join us in congratulating this group of talented comedy writers.

    --MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival

    The MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival is the essential annual event for the international television and media industry. Founded in 1976 and now in its 33rd successful year, the Festival is held annually over the August bank holiday weekend (22 – 24 August 2008) at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

    --Elevate Film Festival Call to Entry

    ELEVATE Films presents “ALL TRIBES UNITE”, the fifth installation of The ELEVATE Film Festival, October 5th at the 7000 seat, state-of the art, Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The ELEVATE experience is a new paradigm in entertainment as we know it, and the fastest growing event of its kind in the world. 20 filmmakers from around the world will be given assignments to create short films, documentaries, music videos or commercials from start to finish in just seven days.

    ELEVATE Film Festival is NOW accepting submissions through August 22nd, for DIRECTORS, EDITORS, DPS, SCREENPLAYS, DOCUMENTARY SUBJECTS, MUSICIANS, CREW, BEHIND THE SCENES CREWS and VOLUNTEERS. All projects will be exclusively produced within a 7 day period, and premiere at the NOKIA THEATRE in DOWNTOWN LA October 5th 2008.
