4/14/08 NYTVF and PGP team up to launch "Flying Solo TV Pilot Contest"
| On Monday, April 14th, the NYTVF announced that Procter & Gamble Productions has rejoined the Fest for its second consecutive year as a Signature Sponsor. The NYTVF is thrilled to be partnered once again with one of New York's biggest and best production companies!
|

As part of the sponsorship, the NYTVF and PGP is following up on its success last year with the PGP Comedy Show by launching a new contest. The Flying Solo TV Pilot Contest allows female college seniors and recent graduates to help produce and also star in a new reality/drama series in the vein of "The Hills."
Based on short audition videos introducing the women and the many interesting aspects of their lives, up to three winners will be selected. These winners will star in TV pilots based on their lives produced by Procter & Gamble Productions. Furthermore, the winners will be given cameras and instructed to shoot their own footage of their day-to-day experiences. This footage will be combined with professionally shot footage to create a unique hybrid program, integrating first-person content with more traditional third-person footage.
The NYTVF is proud to offer young women this tremendous opportunity to become TV producers and stars. For more information on the Flying Solo TV Pilot Contest, click here!

4/1/08 NYTVF Panel at NY COMIC CON
The NYTVF is hosting a panel discussion on producing independent television pilots at New York Comic Con on Saturday, April 19th. The panel will be held from 2-3 PM in Panel Room 1 at the Jacob Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. The independent producers speaking on the panel include artists who have screened pilots in the NYTVF Independent Pilot Competition and, as a result, landed agents, secured network development deals, and even shot a network pilot based on their entry. Come learn about the process of making independent television and ask questions of producers who have made it big at the NYTVF. We hope to see you at Comic Con!
